All My Sons

Saturday, February 9, 2008 7:30 PM - 9:45 PM

OSU’s Theatre Arts Program presents the Pulitzer Prize winning play, All My Sons, February 7 - 9 and 14 - 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Withycombe Hall Main Stage Theatre.

Arthur Miller’s classic American drama takes place over a twenty-four hour period in the days just following World War II. Set in the Midwest, the story painfully depicts the struggle of a tight-knit family’s attempt to cope with the loss of their son as well as the father’s possible culpability in surreptitious war profiteering that ended with disastrous results. Sixty years after its original production on Broadway, All My Sons still hits the bulls-eye in its unflinching depiction of honor, responsibility and ethics during a time of war.

OSU’s own Professor Charlotte J. Headrick, and retired Linn-Benton Community College Drama Director, George Lauris, portray the two lead roles. Douglas Wilcox, an OSU Master’s candidate in Counseling as well as an MFA graduate of the famous Actors Studio in New York City, performs the role of this couple’s son. Local actress, Caren Parmenter, performs the role of Ann, the play’s catalyst for the family’s disruption. OSU undergraduates Grant Davis, Dan E. Mueller, and Theatre Arts majors, Arin Dooley and Arianne Jacques, round out the remainder of the cast.
