SUMMARY:Community Dialogue Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Please join Dr. Natalie Dollar in this opportunity to learn com
munity dialogue on Sundays March 2nd through March 16th from 4:30 to 6:30PM
in Cascades Hall room 118. The workshop is intended to\nprovide a safe\, s
tructured environment for learning how dialogue can be used as an alternati
ve to debate\, argument\, advocacy when discussing contested community issu
es. What are the religious\,\nscientific and spiritual views of the origins
of our world? Participants will not be allowed to advocate\, persuade\, or
argue positions. Instead\, participants will be encouraged to engage the\n
complexity of ideas\, seek to understand other's views\, bring forth the di
versity of views in our community\, and be open to relationships with perso
ns with whom we have significant differences of\nopinion. The goals for the
CDW series are: (1) to facilitate participant's understanding of dialogue
as an intentional way of interacting and relating to others that differs fr
 om debate\, argument\n&amp\; persuasion\; and (2) to provide a safe\, struc
tured space for practicing dialogue skills and sensibilities when engaging
a meaningful yet contested community issue. If you would like more\ninforma
tion about this workshop series\, please contact Dr. Natalie Dollar\, 541-3
22-3140\, ndollar@osucascades.edu or visit The Community Dialogue Project.
