His\nfree public t alk\, "Violence and Nonviolence as Strategies for Social Justice: An Open D iscussion with Mark Rudd" begins at 7:30 p.m. in Gilfillian Auditorium on t he OSU campus. Mark Rudd was a leader\nof the April 1968 Columbia Universit y strike against the Vietnam War and racism\, the last National Secretary o f Students for a Democratic Society (SDS)\, the largest radical student org anization in\nthe country in 1969\, and a founder of the Weather Undergroun d\, a revolutionary guerilla group in the 1970s. Because of Rudd's alleged involvement in the bombings of government buildings during the\n1970s\, he became a federal fugitive for seven and a half years\, until 1977.
