DESCRIPTION:This workshop\, lead by Dr James Osborne\, OSU Extension Enolog
 ist\, will explore the various microorganisms present during the winemaking
  process that can cause wine spoilage issues. The growth and\noccurrence of
  these microorganisms will be discussed as well as the specific spoilage is
 sues that can arise from their growth in wine. A series of wine tastings wi
 ll be used to illustrate taints that\ncan be caused by specific spoilage mi
 croorganisms. In addition\, the use and application of a microscope in the 
 winery will be covered. This workshop runs from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm with

DESCRIPTION:Living on the Land is a workshop series tailored for small acre
 age landowners. There are 5 classes (Wednesdays beginning April 23) in the 
 series and 1 field tour. Classes are taught by agency and\nindustry profess
 ionals and local landowners. The field tour (Saturday\, May 10) will includ
 e stops to visit with landowners in Linn County. Weâ€™ll learn about some o
 f the management practices these\nneighbors are implementing on their land.
