Scientists will cover\ntopics including entomology and cereal\, grass seed and oil seed production. This event is open to the public and will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.\, with refreshment s available starting at 8:30 a.m.\nThe OSU Crops Club will be preparing a n o-cost lunch at noon. The program will be split into four modules\, which w ill be given in the morning\, then repeated in the afternoon. "If you want to see all\nfour modules\, you'll have to stay all day\," said Bill Young\, OSU Extension seed production specialist. This year's schedule is a depart ure from the traditional cereal tour in the morning and grass\nseed tour in the afternoon in an effort to showcase more of the diverse research being conducted at Hyslop Farm\, said Young. The cereal production module will in clude OSU's work on barley\, wheat\nvarieties\, disease control on wheat an d end use products. The grass seed module will cover nitrogen fertility\, t he role of roots\, annual bluegrass control and choke in orchardgrass. The oil seed\nproduction module will showcase OSU's research on winter canola\, spring oilseed crops\, camelina production and local oilseed processing. I n the entomology session\, researchers will discuss barley\nyellow dwarf vi rus\, crop pollination and bee populations and farmscaping for beneficial i nsects. Hyslop Farm is located six miles northeast of Corvallis on Granger Road\, just off of Highway 20. Watch\nfor signs.
