DESCRIPTION:OSU-Cascades invites community college students and individuals
  with some college experience to meet with admissions specialists each Tues
 day. Transfer Tuesdays occur year-round and enable\nindividuals interested 
 in completing a four-year undergraduate degree to meet with admissions spec
 ialists and learn about OSU-Cascades admissions and transfer requirements\,
  academic programs\, and\nstudy abroad and internships in more than 80 coun
 tries. Students can choose from 11 academic majors and 20 options from OSU 
 and UO\, including art\, business administration\, general science\, human\
 ndevelopment and family sciences\, mathematics\, natural resources\, psycho
 logy\, tourism and outdoor leadership and more. In most cases\, students ca
 n apply credits already earned at a community college\nor other institution

 uccess of our recent service project\, Cascades Adventures has decided to t
 ake on a second project for the fall quarter. On\nSunday\,November 23rd\, C
 ascades Adventures will be collaborating with the Students for Sustainable 
 Resources club to reclaim roads near the Crooked River. The roads are locat
 ed on federal land that is\nmanaged by the Forest Service and Bureau of Lan
 d Management. Both of these agencies are involved in this project and are i
 n need of our help to reclaim our grasslands before the ground freezes. The
 \ngoal of the project is to help expedite the desert's natural succession b
 y actively replanting native shrubs and grasses. Transportation\, tools\, s
 hrubs and grasses will all be provided\, we just need\nvolunteers. Come joi
 n Cascades Adventures and the Students for Sustainable Resources club in su
 pporting our open spaces and beautiful places.

SUMMARY:Exploring Central Oregon Geology
DESCRIPTION:The geology of Central Oregon represents several millennia of t
 errestrial disturbance and upheaval. At first glance the landscape seems un
 complicated and similar but underneath lies a plethora of\ncomplex tales fr
 om the ancient past. Cascades Adventures will be hiking into our geologic p
 ast in the westernmost province of the Blue Mountains. Come join us Saturda
 y\, November 22nd as we hike to an\nancient column of volcanic tuff and exp
 lore the brightly colored soils from eons ago. This is a moderately strenuo
 us hike covering a round trip distance of 5.6 mile to the base of Steins Pi
 llar. The\nend of the day will consist of a couple ¼ &amp\; ½ mile walks 
 at the Painted Hills Unit of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument.
