SUMMARY:2009 Summer Institute on Research Methodology
DESCRIPTION:<p>\n Introductory and advanced courses are offered by the OSU
College of Health and Human Sciences Methodology Core over a period of fou
 r days (one day – introductory course\; three days – advanced\n course
) during the summer months. The 2009 introductory course provides instructi
on in the use of Mplus. Participants are expected to be comfortable with th
e General Linear Model. The advanced\n course focuses on the analysis of c
hange using Mplus and will assume prior experience with Mplus\, which may b
e obtained in the introductory course. These two courses can be taken indep
endently or\n combined. The courses are team taught and draw on the facult
y expertise in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Oregon State Uni
versity. Applied examples are used throughout the workshops\,\n with hands
-on analysis experience.\n</p>\n<p>\n July 7: Introduction to Mplus (Alan
Acock). Participants will learn how to use the Mplus software.\n</p>\n<p>\n
July 8-10: Latent Growth Curve Modeling using Mplus (Alan Acock\, Lesa Ho
ffman\, Fuzhong Li). This workshop will introduce latent growth curve and l
ongitudinal multilevel modeling using the Mplus\n software\, and will exte
nd to time-varying predictors\, binary and count&nbsp\; outcomes\, and grow
th mixtures (i.e.\, group differences in trajectories).\n</p>
