SUMMARY:TEAM-Tox Professional Development Series Presents: “Preparing an 
 Effective Scientific Presentation”
DESCRIPTION:<p>\n  Drawing on her extensive experience and success presenti
 ng her own research\, Dr. Abby Benninghoff will share her experience and ex
 pertise in preparing an effective scientific presentation\,\n  including po
 sters and oral talks. &nbsp\;The workshop will include a presentation regar
 ding techniques for effectively communicating research to your audience fol
 lowed by a group discussion and\n  critique of example slides provided by D
 r. Benninghoff and workshop participants. <strong>Please email posters and/

 ></u></strong>\n</p>\n<p>\n  Dr. Benninghoff is a Ruth L. Kirschstein Natio
 nal Research Service Award postdoctoral fellow in the OSU Department of Env
 ironmental and Molecular Toxicology.&nbsp\; She received her B.S. in\n  Bio
 chemistry and Biology at the University of Tennessee\, Knoxville\, and comp
 leted her Ph.D. in Marine Science at the University of Texas in Austin.&nbs
 p\; She joined Dave Williams’ lab at OSU in\n  2005\, where she has used 
 trout\, mouse and cell models to investigate how compounds in both the envi
 ronment and diet promote or prevent cancer formation.&nbsp\; She has been a
 warded a Society of\n  Toxicology &amp\; Colgate-Palmolive Grant for Altern
 ative Research\, 2007 and 2008 National Science Communication Fellowships\,
  several internal pilot grants and a recent R21 grant designed to\n  determ
 ine how dietary indole-3-carbinol modifies the epigenome to prevent lymphom
 a development.&nbsp\;\n</p>\n<p>\n  <strong>Workshop cost is $5 (includes a
  pizza luncheon\, please bring your own beverage)</strong>\n</p>\n<p>\n  <s
