Fireside Chat: What is the purpose of schooling in a democratic society?
Monday, November 19, 2012 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
An innovative method for designing interdisciplinary courses will be modeled in this four-session discussion series. Participants will examine the role of the public university in a democratic
society through videos, short readings, and facilitated discussions. In addition to lively discussions regarding society and schooling, participants will explore a method of course design that
emphasizes cross disciplinary generalizations and construction of logical arguments. Please commit to all four sessions. Facilitated by Robin Pappas & Kay Sagmiller.
