Intern Opportunity at the Food Innovation Center

The Sensory Program at the FIC has an open part-time Student Technician Position.

This is a temporary position for part-time work to assist with conducting large consumer sensory taste tests and market research. Tests dates are variable and may be on weekends. Candidate must be a current student.

The Student Worker will be assisting the Sensory Program Manager and other Sensory Program Staff with preparation and serving for consumer taste tests.

Duties will include management of a large database of participants, emailing for the recruitment of consumers from the existing database using Microsoft Access and Microsoft Outlook, printing labels, making copies, the coding of serving materials, food sample preparation, serving food samples to consumers and clean-up of the sensory reception facilities post-test.

Consumer tests are conducted both at the FIC laboratory complex and off-site. Pay rate is $15/hr.

We are currently looking for someone who is available part-time to work up to 20 hours/week for at least 6 months. Preferred candidates will have a current Food Handlers License and will have solid knowledge of Microsoft Office XP (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook).
