The Willamette Valley Section of the Society of Women Engineers is sponsoring a banquet to celebrate National Engineers Week. The theme for National Engineers Week 2007 is “Engineers Make a World of
Difference.” For over 50 years, National Engineers Week has helped to promote awareness of the engineering profession and to encourage young people to consider a career in engineering. In celebration
of this event, we would like to invite faculty and staff from the College of Engineering to attend this banquet. A number of our students will be attending the banquet as well as many local
industrial professionals. This is a great opportunity to network with the engineering community in the Willamette Valley. We are pleased to announce that Dr. Carolyn Duran, Intel Corporation, will be
our keynote speaker. The banquet will be held Monday, February 26, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at the CH2M Hill Alumni Center on the Oregon State University Campus in Corvallis, Oregon. We hope that you can
join us to celebrate the many contributions made by engineers to our society. Please contact Toni Doolen for an RSVP form, which must be turned in by February 15, 2007 if you plan to attend. If you
need more information regarding the banquet, do not hesitate to contact me at doolen@engr.orst.edu or (541) 737-5641. Toni L. Doolen, PhD. Assistant Professor Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
