First Generation

Film Screening & Panel

Tuesday, March 1, 2016 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Join this opportunity to learn about the dynamics and stories of first generation students from high school and beyond with a film screening, followed by a panel of first generation students, faculty, and staff.

"First Generation" tells the story of four high school students who set out to break the cycle of poverty and bring hope to their families and communities by pursuing a college education. The film explores the problem of college access faced by first generation and low-income students and how their success has major implications for the future of our nation.

Free dinner and child care (ages 4-18, provided by Kidspirit) available with RSVP to dce.oregonstate.edu/first-generation by February 24.
