Reclaiming Your Body Workshop

Saturday, March 11, 2017 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Reclaiming Your Body Workshop. Saturday March 11th, at the Women’s Center from 11:00 am to 1:00pm. Free lunch included in the workshop.

A critical analysis of body images portrayed in the media and taking back body positivity for all bodies. Focusing on marginalized bodies that have often been left out of the discussion of body image is incredibly important. Marginalized groups such as people of color, queer and trans people, and male identified people have had narratives that are often silenced, or ignored. We will do our best to include these narratives.

This is a workshop focused around Body Positivity. It includes activities to deconstruct the media’s influence and how it upholds systems of oppression, and activities that focus on reclaiming self love and reclaiming our individual and collective beauty from society and the media.

For accommodations related to ability, please contact Whitney Archer at 541-737-1330 or Whitney.Archer@oregonstate.edu, preferably one week in advance.
