"Becoming a Rock Star: Learning, Executive Function, and Rock N' Roll" Sammy Perone, PhD, Assistant Professor Prevention Science, Department of Human Development, Washington State University.

Sammy Perone, PhD, research interests include earlychildhood development; connections among learning, cognitive, and brain development; emergence of executive function; early intervention and school readiness; and dynamic systems theory and neuralnetworks.

He is currently an Assistant Professor of Prevention Science in the Department of Human Development at Washington State University.

He received his PhD in Psychology from the University of Iowa in 2010 and his BA in Psychology from Purdue University in 2003. He was a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Psychology at the University of Iowa from 2011-2014 and completed an NICHD Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Institute of Child Development, University of Minnesota 2014-2016.

This college-wide research seminar is Co-Sponsored by the College Research Office; the Hallie Ford Center; the Center for Healthy Aging; the Moore Family Center for Whole Grain Foods Nutrition and Preventive Health; and the Center for Global Health. The seminar series provides a forum for faculty in the College of Public Health & Human Sciences and other researchers to present and discuss current research in topics in an environment conducive to stimulating research collaboration and fostering student learning. Faculty and students from the Division of Health Sciences and other colleges, research centers and institutions are encouraged to participate.
