Join Molly Morison from The Nature Conservancy on an easy tour of vernal pool habitats in the protected Whetstone Savanna Preserve north of Medford.  This preserve is a spring wildflower haven and home to two federally listed endangered plants, as well as threatened vernal pool fairy shrimp. There‚Äôs a great diversity of species and habitat types (prairie, oak, chaparral), and a variety of conditions (intact, degraded and restored) to provide a conservation perspective for these threatened habitats and species. Participants should bring water and a snack and are welcome to stay on-site to enjoy their lunches after the tour. Meet at 8:30am at OSU Extension 569 Hanley Rd., Central Point, to carpool to the preserve.
