Desert Classic - Rules and Guidelines:

1.     Deadline for entries is 6/28/17.  Late entries will be accepted with a $10/head additional fee.

2.     Show is open to junior exhibitors up to 20 years of age on day of show.

3.     All exhibitors will show their own animals.  If an exhibitor has more than one animal in a class, another exhibitor may show one of the animals in that class.

4.     Exhibitors must control their animals in a show ring manner at all times.  Exhibitors are expected to use show sticks and show halters, unless approved by show management prior to the show.

5.     Heifers must not have calved and must have been born between September 1, 2015 and December 31, 2016.  All heifers must be weaned and bangs vaccinated.  Heifers must be registered in the exhibitor's name.  Papers will be checked.  If there are not enough entries to separate registered and commercial heifers, they will be combined.  Unregistered heifers will show as crossbreds.  Heifers must be checked in by 8:30 a.m. on show day.

6.     All cattle must be on grounds by 8:30 a.m.  Steers will be weighed starting at 7:30 a.m.  Classes will be broken by weight.

7.     All out-of-state cattle must have appropriate health certificates for the State of Oregon.

8.     Showmanship contestants must show their own animals.  Belt buckles will be awarded to three age divisions: Junior (11 years and under), Intermediate (12-15 years), Senior (16 and older). 

9.     Bedding will NOT be provided, but will be available for purchase or you may bring your own (no straw).  Exhibitors must clean up their tie area before leaving the show.

10.  NO animals will be allowed in the pick-up/trailer parking area or the camping area.

11.  The show management reserves the right to make any changes or exceptions for the betterment of the show.  All decisions of show management will be final.

12.  Upon returning the entry form, each exhibitor and their family and friends acknowledge that the Milton-Freewater Junior Showgrounds, the Umatilla County Cattlemen's Association, and other sponsors are not responsible for any loss or damage arising from any animal exhibited by him/her.  Participation / attendance in this event is at your own risk.
