Each year, OSU faculty publish a remarkable range of books. Join us as we celebrate the work of OSU authors and editors with a reception and a talk by Elena Passarello. Passarello is an actor, writer and assistant professor of creative writing in OSU’s School of Writing, Literature, and Film. Her essays have appeared in the Oxford American, Slate, Creative Nonfiction, and The Iowa Review, among others, and in the anthologies Cat is Art Spelled Wrong and After Montaigne: Contemporary Essayists Cover the Essay. In 2015, she received the Whiting Award in Nonfiction. The esssays in Animals Strike Curious Poses investigate seventeen different animals made famous by humans. This event is part of OSU’s Recognizing Excellence series, sponsored by the OSU Provost’s office, and hosted by the Center for the Humanities.
