Working Together for a Sustainable Future

17 Goals to create a sustainable future - How are we doing?

Wednesday, July 5, 2017 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

When all of the nations signed onto the UN’s Agenda 2030, in September, 2015, they established 17 aspirational sustainable development goals and 169 targets to achieve by 2030.  Each of the SDGs, from poverty and hunger to oceans and forest practices, highlight efforts that organizations in our communities are already doing to some degree.  How can we support and scale up our efforts to address important social, economic, and environmental issues in our region, align with broader initiatives, and tell our stories?

Presentations and discussions will be led by Kim Smith, Director of the Greater Portland Sustainability Education Network and liaison to UNESCO, and Tom Calvanese, Station Manager, OSU Port Orford Field Station/Marine Studies Initiative. Let’s get together and talk about how Port Orford’s story matters. Light refreshments will be provided.

Free and Open to All!

Sponsored by the Greater Portland Sustainability Education Network, Oregon State University Port Orford Field Station, Wild Rivers Land Trust, Port Orford Community Food Coop, and Redfish Rocks Community Team.
