Communication and Conflict Resolution Workshop

Wednesday, November 1, 2017 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

In addition to the accomplishments and challenges that all students experience on their road to success, graduate students take on various roles that require a unique set of communications skills. You may need these skills in your role as an educator, researcher, co-worker, committee member, or to establish and maintain professional relationships that are important to your future.

What are the basic skills needed to manage communications that can, at times, be difficult or sensitive? Participants at the University Ombuds Office (UOO) training will learn communication and conflict concepts and theory, active listening skills, and a collaborative model for identifying diverse interests and mutually beneficial outcomes. This session will include interactive activities and opportunities for an open-dialogue, all focused on managing communication, preventing and addressing conflicts, and helping you navigate the occasional obstacles that graduate students can face.

This session is available in person and via webinar. Please register at http://oregonstate.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_41RnIZQ33Wl9Mbz
