Don't Grow It Alone - How Advisory Boards Drive Success

The Austin Family Business Program Presents Family Business 360.

Thursday, December 7, 2017 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM

Don't Grow It Alone - How Advisory Boards Drive Success Presented by Paul Menig, CEO, Tech-I-M.

In sports you seek out better players to advance your game. In business you seek out mentors that have been there and can help you take the next step. Many lessons can be learned from the corporate world and from family businesses that have existed for a century. The key is to descale those lessons to be able to apply them to younger, smaller companies, so that they can scale up to achieve their best. Many factors will affect how you scale up, from casual advisors, to paid advisors, to organized CEO peer groups, to more formal boards of advisors, and boards of directors. This session will highlight seven forces affecting a company and how to marshal the family and advisors to overcome the challenges.

This presentation will help answer:

  • When is a good time to start adding outside resources and governance structures?
  • How do we avoid losing control of the business?
  • What is the return on investment in time and money?

Registration limited to family business owners, managers and key personnel. Our sessions are safe places for business-owning families to gather; the AFBP does not share information on session attendees with anyone.

A 25% discount is available for those who register either for 3 or more sessions or for 3 or more attendees via call at 800-859-7609.
