Rare plants in SW Oregon

Tuesday, September 26, 2017 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Our region is home to many rare and splendid plant species.  Kristi Mergenthaler, an excellent local botanist and naturalist, will weave some tales about these special plants with a focus on rarities that may grow in your backyard, or in your back forty.

Kristi works for Southern Oregon Land Conservancy and is the President of the Siskiyou Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon.  She has conducted rare plant and vegetation surveys for over ten years.   She has also worked as a fire lookout, natural history educator, wilderness trip leader and conservation crew leader.  Come armed with question and expect to learn a lot from Kristi and have fun while you’re doing it!
