Religious Liberty as Discrimination?

Flash Panel

Thursday, November 9, 2017 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM

In early October, the Trump administration issued guidelines for protecting religious freedom as a fundamental right enshrined in the First Amendment. However, critics have been concerned that appeals to religious freedom can support bigotry and discrimination, as illustrated by current Supreme Court cases.  The four panelists will bring areas of expertise in gender, history, culture, and ethics to bear on the question of the scope of religious freedom and its potentially discriminatory applications.
