AUDITIONS: Rhinoceros

Tuesday, November 14, 2017 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Auditions for Oregon State University Theatre’s Winter production Rhinoceros will be held November 13 and 14 at 6:00 pm on the Withycombe Hall Main Stage. The Main Stage is located in Withycombe Hall on the OSU Corvallis Campus, 30th and Campus Way.

Rhinoceros was originally produced on January 25, 1960, at the Odéon under the direction of Jean-Louis Barrault. A classic in the Theatre of the Absurd, Rhinoceros depicts the anxiety concerning the spread of totalitarianism in society inspired by Ionesco’s experiences with fascism.

Auditions are open to all OSU students, staff, faculty, and area community members. The cast features 3 principal roles and an ensemble of 7-14 players. Auditioners should be prepared to do cold readings from the script, available online at:  (http://www.suffolk.edu/ModernTheatre/events/113.html)

There will be a cast read-through/meeting the week of November 27. Rehearsals will begin January 15 and run regularly Sundays 12-4 and 6:30-10:30 pm Mondays-Thursdays. Tech/dress rehearsals run February 24-28 and performances are March 1-3 and 9-11. All cast members must be available for all tech rehearsals, performances, and strike.
