Introduction to Woodland Management (Douglas)

A Basic Forestry Shortcourse

Tuesday, January 23, 2018 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

This shortcourse is ideal for anyone who is just starting out taking care of a woodland property.  Classes are designed to provide woodland owners with a broad and thorough overview of many topics of importance when managing a woodland.

Topics covered:

Assessing your property
Forest development
Forest health
Sources of assistance
Forest practices 
Harvest systems
Wildlife habitat 

The first 5 sessions are held on Tuesdays (January 23rd, 30th, and February 6th, 13th and 20th) and are classroom based.  The 6th session is a Saturday field tour (February 24th.)

This class is a prerequisite for the Master Woodland Manager program coming to Douglas County in the Fall of 2019. 

 Registration is required by January 21st.
