Collaborative Alignment and Community-based Governance: Cases from the Forest to the Coast

Presented by Dr. Gregg Walker, Professor, Speech Communication

Community-based adaptation and environmental decision making emphasize participation; key stakeholders and interested parties involved in a collaborative governance process.  Collaborative Alignment is a new framework that guides the development and maintenance of a community-based effort to address climate change adaptation and other areas of environmental policy, such as forest management.

This presentation introduces the Collaborative Alignment framework and its “4 Ps” of Purpose, People, Process, and Product.  It includes two case examples – one that features climate change adaptation and one that focuses on forest management.
