Sponsored by IUFRO Working Party 5.04.13 - Industrial Engineering, Operation Analysis and Logistics

(and yes, sorry the time is correct - midnight on June 12th for those in the U.S. Pacific Time - the lecturer is presenting at 3pm Malaysia time)

Presented by Judith Gisip, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Bio-Composite Technology Program. Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia.

In wood-based machining operations, tool wear is the one critical factor that needs to be addressed and overcome. Vast studies on tool wear have indicated that the two pressing issues related to tool wear are on methods to reduce and to measure it. This webinar will introduce the subject in tool wear in terms of its mechanisms and effects among others, followed by a promising method on how to increase tool life of tungsten carbide tools.
