Energize your Meals with Tips from OSU Extension Master Food Preservers

Saturday, March 3, 2018 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM

With spring just around the corner it is time to get serious about using the foods you have stored in the freezer and pantry and create some fantastic easy meals to save money and time.  OSU Extension Master Food Preservers will be teaching a class on Saturday March 3 from 10 am – 1:30 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church in Eugene.  Focus of the class will be tips and tricks to creative quick meals from your pantry and freezer.  The class will also cover what you should include in a well-stocked pantry as well as showing quick and easy freezer meals and tips to save time and money.

The class will include hands on activities where participants will be divided into small groups and create a meal from foods that are often found in a well-stocked pantry/freezer.

Having a stocked pantry and freezer is a great way to save money with the rising cost of food.  Lane County grows an abundance of food and learning how to preserve these foods you can eat locally year around.

Cost if the class is $35.  Registration information is available at the OSU Lane County Extension Office, 996 Jefferson in Eugene or go to the website for more information.

The classes are held at the Community of Christ Church 1485 Gillam Street in Eugene.
