One of the hardest and most challenging aspects of farming is when one of our animals dies. This class offers an overview of the various ways of dealing with animal carcasses on the farm. We will cover relevant laws and regulations, discuss options, and have an in-depth conversation about composting mortalities.
Instructors: Chris Anderson from the Oregon Department of Agriculture, Bob Crouse of Fort Vannoy Farms, and Angie Boudro, Regenerative Agriculture, Animal Science and Agriculture Communications, independent contractor.
