The conference opens with a plenary session featuring a distinguished panel on the topic “Maintaining Future Mobility.” The session will focus on the fact that transportation in America and in Oregon have suffered from under-investment, to the point that many experts are forecasting a “train wreck” as growth in transportation demand, driven by population and economic growth, collide with capacity limits. Panelists will offer their insights and perspectives on the strategies to help us avoid that train wreck, with smart infrastructure investments, innovations to squeeze more capacity from existing infrastructure, transportation demand management and transportation alternatives.
The plenary follows with 24 break-out sessions over three days. The conference includes vendor displays, alternative transportation demos, luncheon speaker presentations, and a vendor-hosted evening social.
