-Reading by Chris Adrian, a practicing pediatrician and the author of two novels, Gob's Grief and The Childrens' Hospital both of which have received critical acclaim for their inventive mix of
realism and the fantastic. His short fiction has appeared in The New Yorker, Paris Review, and McSweeneys, as well as in Best American Short Stories. A graduate of the Iowa Writers Workshop and
University of Virginia Medical School, he recently completed a pediatric residency at the University of California, San Francisco, and is in his second year at Harvard Divinity School. While in
