Larry H. Brown has 35 years of experience in the electronics industry. He has held many local, regional and national offices within the Electronic Representatives Association. Upon leaving the
military, Larry took a sales position in his uncle’s manufacturer’s representative company. Larry and his cousin, Bill Earl, bought the company from the retiring senior partners and changed the name
to Earl & Brown Company. In 1992, Motorola offered Larry a distributorship for Motorola’s low cost Two-Way Radios, which was Earl & Brown Company’s first distribution product line. Becoming a
distributor signaled a major change in business style. The distribution company has grown from $250,000 in sales that first year to over $45,000,000 last year. The company now sells products for more
than 30 manufacturers and counts as major customers, Amazon and Costco Wholesale, along with some 300 others. Larry is an Oregon native and a graduate of Oregon State University with a BS degree in
Business Administration. While attending OSU, Larry was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. The connection to Oregon State University runs deep within Larry’s family. His grandfather, Curtis
L. Hawley, had served for many years on the Board of Regents, which was then the governing body for Oregon Agricultural College. To honor Mr. Hawley for his many years of service to OAC and as an
Oregon State Senator, one of the four wings of Weatherford Hall was named after him, Hawley Hall. In a tribute to his grandfather, Larry contributed funds to the re-construction of Weatherford
Residential College. Today, the Weatherford Library and five rooms are named after Hawley and Brown family members.
