This six-session course plus one field day covers what a forestland owner, or potential forestland owner, needs to know and who they might need to contact to begin managing their forest. Topics
include how the forest ecosystem works; reforestation; protection from pests and fire; measuring trees and other forest resources; silviculture including fertilizing, pruning and thinning; wildlife;
harvesting and marketing products; taxes and business necessities; forest laws, sources of information, and more. Preregistration required.
