Abstract: Association mapping or linkage disequilibrium (LD) mapping is a method to genetically dissect complex traits based on the non-random association between alleles at a locus (or Loci) and the
trait of interest across a set of diverse germplasm. Association or LD mapping has been widely used in human disease studies since it potentially has advantages over conventional linkage or
quantitative trait locus (QTL) mapping. This seminar will provide an overview of association mapping and outline the prospects of applying association mapping for wheat improvement.
