River Sediment Transport for Stream Restoration

Tuesday, October 28, 2008 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

This 3-day course gives basic technical coverage of river sediment transport concepts and analysis methods, as well as supporting hydrology and hydraulic coverage. The lecture topics follow a natural progression of technical topics, using a lecture format, to give an understanding of analyses methods and their applications. Exercise sessions are used to give experience in the application of methods to a variety of types of stream restoration-alteration projects. Some laptop computer work will occur during exercise sessions.

This course is intended for technicians, practitioners and managers with various technical backgrounds who work with stream projects or review proposals and permits for such projects. Attendees should have basic environmental and technical analytical skills and have a general familiarity with spreadsheet use and website data access
