Deanna Delong, authored How to Dry Foods over 26 years ago, has taught solar dehydrator construction in 20 countries, will speak about food dehydration and recipes and techniques for drying fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices, nuts and seeds. 6th edition How to Dry Foods will be available for sale. Andy Van Hevelingen, owner of Van Hevelingen Herb Nursery, grows and sells over 100 varieties of Lavender, plus dozens of other herbs. He is a lavender breeder who has developed 5 unique and popular lavender varieties. He is a garden writer for The Herb Companion magazine. Elizabeth Howley, CCC Horticulture Instructor, will present her experiences using favorite herbs and favorite recipes will be shared. Speaker topics will include Drying Foods, Cooking With Herbs, Alluring Lavender and Mediterranean Herbs. Preregistration is required. Vendors will have plants, herbs, books and more available for purchase! Bring a sack lunch and join us for this exciting day!
