Campus Tour for Graduate Students, led by Bill Lunch
Research on the OSU Campus
Wednesday, October 1, 2008 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM
The campus walking tour led by Prof. Lunch will touch on some of the history of Oregon State, but will emphasize the politics and funding patterns that have been and are vital to key research
programs, colleges, and departments at OSU. Among them are connections between the campus and NOAA (Sea Grant); the land-grant role of OSU (Agriculture and Forestry); even the relationship of the
campus to the National Endowment for the Arts. OSU's role in the state and relations with governors and the state legislature will also be briefly discussed, but emphasis among these and other
potential topics will depend significantly on the interest expressed by those taking the tour. Students from all disciplines are welcome.
