Can Students Change the World?

Join Christopher Phelps, historian and writer, in a wide-ranging discussion about student organizing and resistance. When and how have movements led by students made a difference? How does political engagement transform the lives of students? What is the relationship between campus and society? What are the prospects today for student action on such issues as the environment, the war, the economy, interracial democracy and the election? Christopher Phelps is associate professor of history at Ohio State University, and the author of Young Sidney Hook (University of Michigan Press). This Fall he is a research fellow at the OSU Center for Humanities.
