Change is a fact of life for Oregon ecosystems, but the fact of change is not necessarily well accounted for by current management frameworks. Please join the Institute for Natural Resources (INR)
for the first of four seminars conducted for the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) and Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) which describe ways that current regulatory frameworks may be
incompatible with ecosystem dynamics, and helps identify alternative regulatory and non-regulatory options. The first seminar, on February 17, 2009, explores flooding dynamics, riparian forest
management, Clean Water Act regulation and much more. The seminar will include presentations by Drs. Gordon Reeves, David Hulse, and Stan Gregory. To read more about INR's ecosystem dynamics research
for the ODF and DEQ, please visit http://www.oregon.gov/ODF/STATE_FORESTS/FRP/RP_Home.shtml#Dynamic_Forest_Ecosystems If you plan to attend, an RSVP would be appreciated (to the contact below) but is
not required.
