The Order of the Engineer is a group of engineers in the United States who have declared their responsibility to the public and to the profession. The Ring Ceremony is the public induction of candidates into the Order of the Engineer, during which the engineer candidates formally accept the Obligation of an Engineer and receive a stainless steel ring to be worn as a symbol on the fifth finger of the working hand.
In Canada, originally forged from the steel of failed bridge members, the Order of the Engineer Ring is worn to remind all engineers of what is at stake in our profession. To learn more information about the Order of the Engineer please read the Order's webpage: http://www.order-of-the-engineer.org/e-ring.htm.
Friends and family are invited to both the ceremony and reception that follows.
