The department of Biochemistry and Biophysics is proud to host Dr. Stephen Lippard, Arthur Amos Noyes Professor of Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, for our annual Tsoo King Lecture Series. Dr. Lippard’s pioneering research focuses on the interaction of metal ions with key biological molecules, including the anti-cancer properties of platinum containing drugs. Over the last several decades, his world-renowned research has led to the development of novel and effective platinum anti-cancer drugs, many of which are currently in clinical use, and has earned him numerous academic awards including the National Medal of Science in 2006.
On Monday, Nov. 9th at 5:30 pm in the C&E Hall of LaSells Stewart Center, Dr. Lippard will be giving a lecture entitled "Understanding and Improving Platinum Anti-Cancer Drugs" as part of our annual Tsoo King Lecture Series. This lecture is free to the public, and a reception will follow.
