Michael’s presentation will focus on the “effectiveness of OR-OSHA” and “looking forward to 2015”.

Michael became the administrator of the Occupational Safety and Health Division of the Oregon Department of Consumer Services (Oregon OSHA) in September of 2005.  Prior to taking on that responsibility, he was employed by the state of Washington for more than 21 years.  After three years working for the Washington State Legislature, Michael worked for the Washington Department of Labor and Industries in a number of capacities, including more than a decade as the Senior Program Manager of WISHA Policy & Technical Services and eight months as the Acting Assistant Director for WISHA Services.  He also spent four months administering the Washington Self Insurance Program.  Michael is a Certified Safety Professional and a graduate of Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.

The seminar will again be available for participants desiring to view and participate off-site. The arrangement will be managed by OSU Media Services and will include videoconferencing and webcasting.  This will allow us to archive all presentations for later use by your organizations as well as for classroom instruction. A number of individuals both domestic and international have participated in past seminars via interactive video conferencing. Please contact your sites world-wide and let them know that we can arrange for them to view this presentation. This can be arranged in the following 2 ways:

1. For live, face-to-face interaction, participants can use IP videoconferencing units to connect via the Oregon State University Telecom bridge. To facilitate this approach, we will need to test with your site before the conference. Please contact john.myers@oregonstate.edu to prepare and setup this type of arrangement.

Please respond via e-mail the number of personnel that are planning to attend from your organization. A catered lunch will be provided immediately following the presentation. Please consider parking at the OSU Football Stadium where a number of "PAY AND DISPLAY" Parking Meters are located. You can then take the OSU Shuttle to the Memorial Union and take a short walk to Owen Hall.
