The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures - with the cooperation of the Goethe Institute in New York, the German and French Consulates in San Francisco and the Spanish Embassy in Washington D.C. - presents a series of recent award-winning films from Germany, France, Spain and Algeria. The film screenings take place 7-9 p.m. in 101 Owen Hall during International Education Week. Admission is free and open to the general public.

Generalísimo Francisco Franco's triumph marked the end of democracy in Spain for the next forty years, and a dark turning point for all those opposed to his fascist ideals.
