MG @ Night Starting Plants from Seed class

OSU Extension Service Farms & Gardens

Thursday, February 23, 2012 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Have you always wanted to take the Master Gardener (MG) training but can't because you work during the day? The Master Gardener @ Night Program may be what you're looking for. The program consists of two terms of 12 classes each.  Term one is taught January thru April and term two is taught September thru November.  The program, if taken in its entirety, is comparable to the existing MG training – 60 hours of high quality instruction on the art and science of growing and caring for plants.  The goal of the Master Gardener program is the training of a highly educated group of volunteers who extend sustainable gardening information to the community.

Textbook available for $35 at the OSU/Lane Co. Extension Service, 783 Grant St., Eugene.

There are three options participants can choose from depending on their goals:

Option 1 Full Master Gardener Certification and Badge: Must complete 11 of 12 classes per term (22 of 24 total) - Completion of 60 hours of volunteer activities - Cost is $150 per term, payable prior to the start of each term

Option 2 Master Gardener Certificate of Horticultural Proficiency - Must complete 11 of 12 classes per term  (22 of 24 total) No volunteer time requirement - Cost is $250 per term, payable prior to the start of each term
