A College Algebra Redesign: Inquiry-Based Learning for Student Success

Wednesday, November 28, 2012 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Nationally, college algebra is a critically important gateway course that has low student success rates.  The OSU Dept. of Mathematics is addressing the challenge of improving student learning outcomes and engagement in this course by piloting a new approach that incorporates small-group work and increased use of interactive technology.  In this workshop, Scott Peterson, currently teaching the redesigned section of MTH 111, will describe and demonstrate the new approach, will model activities from the course, and will discuss plans for assessment and future implementation.

Faculty fom other colleges and universities are welcome!
