Health Equity Researchers of Oregon (HERO) Meeting

Highlighting the health equity work happening at Oregon State

Thursday, November 29, 2012 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

College Faculty are invited to attend the next Health Equity Researchers of Oregon (HERO) Meeting. Organized by the Oregon Health Authority’s Office of Equity and Inclusion, HERO is a network of Health Equity researchers across the state, working together to inform policy and community-based efforts to improve health in Oregon for culturally diverse communities. The HERO meetings are terrific venues for professional networking and for learning about the health equity research going on throughout the state.

Four College faculty members will be presenting their research to highlight the health equity work happening at OSU:
“Be Active, Work Safe: A Novel Online Health Promotion Program for People with a Disability” – Simon Driver and Laurel Kincl
“Correlates of Physical Functioning among Older American Indians: The Native Elder Care Study” – Turner Goins
“Disparity in Disaster Preparedness between Racial/Ethnic Groups” – Jeff Bethel
“Reproductive and Sexual Health Care for Latino Men in Rural Oregon: Providers' Experiences and Perceptions.” – Marie Harvey and Megan Cahn
