Living with Fire

Wednesday, January 16, 2013 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Whether sparked by lightning or by the carelessness of human hands, wildfire is prevalent in southern Oregon.  Learn about basic fire behavior, how to reduce the chances of a fire starting or spreading on your woodlands, and personal preparedness for fire emergencies.  Discuss techniques for modifying woodland fuels to slow fire spread and reduce fire intensity.  Plan ahead by creating fuel breaks, providing adequate water supplies and maintaining good access routes for fire equipment.
