The “Food for Thought” community lecture series returns this month with Prabhu Pingali, Deputy Director of Agricultural Development at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Dr. Pingali will provide a retrospective view on the first Green Revolution in agricultural technology, including its achievements and limitations in increasing global food supply and reducing poverty. He will then explore the challenges of a Green Revolution 2.0, which he argues is urgently needed for sustainably feeding the world and enhancing the prosperity of smallholder farmers.
