Polk SWCD Native Plant Sale

Pre-order today!

Friday, February 15, 2013 7:00 AM - Saturday, February 16, 2013 5:30 PM

Planting natives is a great way to increase the visual appeal and attract wildlife to your yard.  Many wildlife species rely on native plants for food and habitat.  Through these plants you can create your very own wildlife sanctuary consisting of mammals, birds, insects, and reptiles right outside of your window.  Polk SWCD has used plants from the Native Plant Sale for many restoration and riparian habitat projects.  Proceeds from the sale provide student and teacher scholarships for education in natural resources.

If you are looking for a source of natives then stop by Polk SWCD’s 11th Annual Native Plant Sale Friday, February 15th and Saturday 16th, 2013 at 550 Morrow Rd in Independence.  At least 70 different species of plants will be offered.  New plants include: Black Huckleberry, Bog Blueberry, Cascade Aster, Evergreen Huckleberry, Scarlet Gilia, and Western Azalea along with many of the old favorites such as firs, cedars, alders, maples, lilies and more.

Pre-orders are now being accepted!  Pick up order form in the Polk SWCD office or place your orders online at www.polkswcd.org.
