This is an invitation to you as someone with an interest and stake in the laws that pertain to plant breeding and related patents.
While we apologize for the short notice, we have been afforded an opportunity by the OSU Office of Commercialization and Corporate Development to hear from Dr. Tanya Harding, patent attorney from Portland who specializes in plant utility patents. She is prepared to meet with plant breeders and geneticists, including members of the Variety Release Committee. Her focus is on upcoming changes in the U.S. patent law and intellectual property issues that are germane to research here at OSU.
We have arranged for this hour-long conversation Monday, Feb. 4, from noon to 1 p.m. in Memorial Union 211. The College of Agricultural Sciences will provide lunch for you.
IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR ATTENDANCE with Sandy Sears (sandy.sears@oregonstate.edu) before 3 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 1.
