The Reproductive Justice of OSU student club will be showing the film "The Pill," which
explores the development and approval of oral hormonal contraception. Effective contraception was one of the most important developments for women's liberation, but the U.S. also has a dark history
of controlling women's fertility, especially for women of color. After the film we will discuss some of the less known aspects of the development of birth control including the risky
testing that was done on Puerto Rican women, and the negative effects that the pill has had on women's health.
